Other people
It might have happened to you, too. And, to a lot of other people. You receive a 'friend request' on a social network from someone you barely know. Some of these people might actually be your acquaintances, but you have rarely spoken face-to-face. Should you accept it or not?
No!?
But, do you really connect through Facebook to those you do know well? How about a phone call? Chat face-to-face or get together with a good friend?
I believe that this is one of the best things about social networking - connecting to acquaintances and different people.
Well, you can disagree, of course. But, we might agree in one way. It is important to find ways to connect to those outside of our every day circle of relationships. When we do we leave our comfort zone. Our horizon is widened. The opportunity to share our lives with others is expanded when we become part of their lives. We get to know them, their ideas, needs hopes...better.
Above all, we can share God's love with them. A love that builds a worldwide network, also called the family of faith which God intended for all. Via these types of media we experience unique moments - which otherwise we would never know. Posting and share good words that can comfort hearts and change lives.
In other words, we are able to transmit a good word even to those who never spoke to us.
