The Lutheran University of Brazil (Ulbra) was ranked 6th among Brazilian Private Universities. The ranking was released by Federal Education and Culture Board(MEC, in Portuguese) on January, 2011, pointing that Ulbra achieved Level 4 (from 1 to 5). Numbers show also the Lutheran Institution only 79 points behind 1st. The MEC evaluated 2,137 institutions nationwide, 2,069 of them being private.
The news come as the University take all efforts to recover from a severe crisis which it has underwent since 2009, when former president resigned. Current President Dr. Marcos F. Ziemer points out that Ulbra is reassuming its focus on Education. “We are consolidating Ulbra’s growth and we’ll keep moving further”, says Ziemer.
